JH Coaches Completes 282 Metro Replacement Duties Over October Half-Term

JH Coaches has successfully completed another major Metro Replacement operation on behalf of Nexus, delivering an impressive 282 duties across just nine days during the October half-term period.

The operation saw our team undertake an intensive schedule, with 34 duties operating each weekday, 31 on Saturdays and 25 on Sundays, helping to keep passengers moving across the Tyne and Wear Metro network while planned works took place.

A Huge Team Effort Behind the Scenes

Delivering an operation of this scale requires extensive planning, coordination and flexibility, particularly alongside our existing commitments, including private hires, school transport, public service contracts and other scheduled operations.

Throughout the nine-day period, our drivers, operations team, engineering department and support staff worked tirelessly to ensure services were delivered as efficiently and reliably as possible.

From early morning departures to late-night finishes, colleagues across the business demonstrated exceptional dedication and professionalism, often going above and beyond to meet the demands of an extremely busy operational schedule.

The successful completion of these duties is a testament to the hard work, teamwork and commitment of everyone involved, both behind the wheel and behind the scenes.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Stanley Travel and Northstar, who provided valuable assistance by covering additional duties during some of our busiest periods.

Their support helped us manage the significant demands of the operation while maintaining our other transport commitments.

Collaboration between operators is an important part of delivering large-scale transport operations, and we are extremely grateful for the flexibility and cooperation demonstrated by both companies.
