Now that our 2017 Day Excursion Programme is finally released, we have put together some of our most popular destinations from last years programme to inform you of the popular destinations that we have to offer.
Our friendly, knowledgeable and professional drivers are at the very heart of the success of every JH Coaches tour and look forward to welcoming you on board.
1 - Bury Market - This market has a variety of indoor and outdoor market stalls and is famed for its black pudding stalls. Bury Market remains the undisputed champion of the North West, attracting 250,000 visitors every week.
2 - Emmerdale Tour - The live, working TV set located within the Harewood Estate in Leeds, that has played witness to many-a spectacle, has opened its gates when cast and crew down scripts for the weekend to allow guests the chance to tread the tarmac and indulge in a fully guided tour of the popular, fictional village. Visitors will be able to marvel at the beauty the picturesque farming village boasts as they meander down the lane to the surreal sight of stone cladded shops and homes nestled amongst the rolling hills. Sauntering past the familiar haunts of Bob’s Café, The Woolpack, the village Church and rows of stone cottages known as home for over 43 years to your favourite Emmerdale characters, guides will share secrets, stories and reveal fascinating facts behind the making of the, multi award winning, ITV soap. Emmerdale village as it is today, was purpose built in the grounds of Harewood House over 17 years ago after the programme’s former location of Esholt became so popular with visitors, filming scenes became impossible. Until now, its secluded and somewhat secret new home has been steeped in security to stop general public access. Immerse in the poignant world of the small, extraordinary rural village of Emmerdale, where the only real drama will be if you miss out…
3 - Blackpool Illuminations - The Blackpool Illuminations sees the seaside city of fun still buzzing with excitement and laughter long after other resorts have gone in to hibernation. Watch the famous illuminations switch on before the journey home. Arrival back to the North East will be in the early hours of the morning.
4 - Holy Island & Sea Houses - Holy Island is connected to the mainland by a causeway which leads into the quaint island village of Lindisfarne, from where there are stunning views of its Castle. Spend time wandering through the ruins of the Priory where the magnificent Lindisfarne Gospels were produced, or why not sample some of the world-famous 'Mead' brewed by Monks on the island. We then continue onto the fishing village of Seahouses to spend some free time.
5 - Scarborough - Spend the day in the region’s premier coastal resort with its sandy beach, harbour, castle, and bustling town centre. It certainly has something for everyone.
